WTF Wednesday

It was my Swiss boss who first introduced me to the true meaning of the expression WTF, "Welcome to France".

In all honesty there are some things that happen here that just leave you scratching your head and the only logical response is "WTF".

I will try my best to introduce you to local French culture by sharing with you some of these moments.

The title of this restaurant says it all.  There is no need to sugar coat it.  If you want to eat, you will do so Entre Midi et Deux (Between Noon and Two).

This is an expression to live by in France because lunch at most restaurants is only served between 12 - 2.  And if you are one of these people that likes to run errands during your lunch break, you are out of luck.  You see most stores and offices are closed "entre midi et deux".

Welcome to France.

Whew, that could be inconvenient!

I guess places being closed are a good incentive for enjoying a relaxing lunch. I'm visiting from SITS because my topic today is WTF Wednesday, also! (But not referring to Welcome to France) Hope you'll drop by and say hi!

I actually like it that way. I also like(well, at one time) that all the stores were closed on Sunday. It just seems so much easier than my rushed life.

I guess that makes you slow down and enjoy your day a bit more though!

Oh that would make it tricky! My husband likes to eat his lunch at 11:30- guess he would just be out of luck :)

I know it must be frustrating but being from Europe I kinda miss things being closed. It is nice to have to wish for something and look forward to it being available. We live in a tiny town and the donut shop is open 24 hrs. I want to go there at three in the morning just to see if there truly is anyone awake!??

This brings back memories of living in Switzerland! :) I remember being surprised that the children didn't eat lunch at school. The school closed for lunch and the children walked home or to friends house to eat
