Do-over

Can you believe that I didn't get anything for Mother's Day?  There was no breakfast in bed.  There was no card.  There wasn't even a "Happy Mother's Day" uttered that Sunday morning.

In my sons' defense, they really had no idea that it was even Mother's Day, so they get a free pass.  As for my husband, well, in his defense we were flying out to Romania that day.

When I finally called him out on it later that day, he replied with his all time favorite line, "well you aren't my mother".

I blame this oversight on our hectic travel schedule during the month of May.  He did go above and beyond for my first Mother's Day, but this was my first Mother's Day as a mother of 2, you know what I mean?

Luckily, Mother's Day in France is actually this weekend.  This mean that my husband has an opportunity that most husbands would die for...a do-over.

At least Nathan showed me how much he loves him.  I got this little doozie at the daycare.  It is the sweetest thing.  To be honest, I have been waiting for this kind of thing since the moment he started going to daycare.  My office will be a little brighter with this little doozie hanging.  Doesn't he looks so sweet in that picture?  Why do all kids look like angels when they are sleeping?

And in case my husband doesn't take the hint, he'll have to go above and beyond for our wedding anniversary next week!

Are there sometimes when you would like a do-over?

I had to laugh at your husbands comment, "your not my mother" :) And... well, if it makes you feel better my husband had no excuse and I got nada. I did sorta tell him not to spent money on me (I feel bad when he buys me jewelry that I don't like) but I thought he'd at least offer to let me sleep in or make me breakfast in bed. I'm certain he'll do better next year!! or else :)

Love the little heart - so nice. I just can't wait for me to get mine. Didn't get any - but we were traveling that day and I think Norwegian mothers day is in the autumn. Danish fathers day is coming up but I have to be in Norway that day so no celebrations for daddy ether. but next year I plan to take the baby with me an dpick flowers for daddy - can't wait :)

PS Can't see that the setting has changed, if you change the comment setting to include external sites and anonymous - that way I can refer to my blog :) But no worry I just use my google + account. Have a super weekend :)

I hope he does better for your anniversary.

Kids are always so adorable when they are sleeping. Maybe it's because they are quiet.

My husband dropped the ball too. WHat was funny was my 5 year old (who had been primed to get me chocolate but my DH never asked him about it) really let him have it afterwards. He was all, "DAD! You were SUPPOSED to get Mom something and you didn't get her ANYTHING! That was NOT NICE!"

I hope you have a wonderful wedding anniversary! You deserve it.

he better take this chance to re-do. when you called him on it before. he should have just said that he was waiting for mother's day in france. that would have been the perfect way to wiggle out of that one! LOL!

My husband skips everything. But I did get breakfast in bed this year. And the pleasure to clean the epic mess they made in the kitchen...
I think the anniversary will bring a surprise!

I have the kids' artwork all over my cubicle walls. It's a nice reminder of why I'm at work.
