Cornel and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary. I can't believe it's been a year...the time has flown by. Looking back, I can't believe how much my life has changed in one year and how many more changes there are to come. Here we are after one year of marriage expecting our first child; buying our first apartment together and basically becoming adults. This year has not been easy and there have been many growing pains both in our marriage and within ourselves. It is hard to go from being independent and living on different continents to becoming a couple sharing a one bedroom apartment in a country that belongs to neither of us. Times have been really good and times have been bad but it's life. We have learned to overcome the obstacles, sometimes together and sometimes one dragging the other - but survived nonetheless.
Celebrating our first year has truly been an accomplishment and now we know there is nothing we can't face together. This year's celebrations included the Lenny Kravitz concert (he gives an amazing show) a delicious cake at midnight from Maison Vacher-the best boulangerie in Clermont (triple chocolate mousse) a single red rose at work (1 red rose = 1 year of marriage) and dinner at the Hotel Radio (which is where we shared our first kiss in 2006)! The dinner was amazing and the night ended with a candy plaque and the inscription "Joyeux Anniversaire de Mariage"! Priceless.
At home we popped in our wedding DVD and watched our favorite parts before calling it a night. All in all, not a shabby anniversary!
We are now on our way to Rome to celebrate the honeymoon we never got a chance to celebrate. I can only hope to have many more anniversaries as perfect as this one!
